Industrial replacement

Direct-fit replacement tubes for aging CO2 laser systems already in production.

Installation & care

Getting the full rated lifespan from your tube

A CO2 laser tube is a glass, high-voltage component. Most premature failures trace back to cooling or wiring, not the tube itself.

CO2 laser tube connection points: negative electrode terminal, water outlet, positive electrode terminal, high voltage sheath, water inlet
Know your connection points before you wire or plumb the tube in.

Wiring polarity

Connect the high-voltage positive lead to the tube’s anode (reflector) end, and route the return line through the power supply’s current meter to the cathode (output) end. Reversed polarity shortens tube life fast.

Coolant flow direction

Water must enter at the lower connector and exit at the upper one, so the tube stays fully flooded with no trapped air. Bleed the line before first power-up.

Coolant temperature

Keep coolant between roughly 15–30°C using distilled or deionised water. Running hot shortens tube life; running near freezing risks the tube cracking from ice expansion.

Flow rate

Target a flow rate in the 8–13 L/min range. Too little flow causes mode jumps and visible power loss; confirm the return line stays submerged so the tube refills cleanly on every restart.

Operating current

Stay at or below each model’s recommended working current rather than its maximum rated current for everyday jobs — it trades a little peak power for a longer working life.

High-voltage end

Keep the high-voltage electrode dry, dust-free and well clear of any grounded metal to avoid stray ignition discharge.

Output window care

Smoke residue on the output lens quietly drains output power. Wipe it gently with lens-safe alcohol and a soft cloth if engraving depth starts to fall off.

Handling

The tube is glass under vacuum — support it at the manufacturer-recommended mounting points and avoid any local flexing or point loads during install.

Warranty

What’s covered

Covered

Output power dropping more than 20% below rating under normal use, a tube that won’t fire despite intact appearance, or a shell failure caused by manufacturing stress — all within the warranty period on the spec table above.

Not covered

Damage from poor cooling (insufficient flow, frozen or contaminated coolant), a fouled output window, expired warranty, or damage from external force or mishandling.

Claims process

Keep the factory label and both end optics intact and send photos or video of the fault, along with the manufacturing date on the label, to Mason@shrichman.com.

Before you claim

Check coolant flow, water temperature and wiring polarity first — most reported “dead tube” cases trace back to one of these rather than the tube itself.

Common questions

CO2 laser tube FAQ

What’s the difference between the SH1, SH2, SH4, SH6 and SH8 models?

They’re the same tube design scaled up: SH1 is the shortest and lowest-powered (1100mm, 75W rated), and SH8 is the longest and highest-powered (1850mm, 150W rated, 180W max). Diameter steps up from 60mm on SH1–SH4 to 70mm on SH6 and SH8. Choose the model that matches your machine’s existing tube length and power draw.

How long does a SHRICHMAN CO2 laser tube last?

Nominal lifespan is rated at 10,000 hours under recommended working current. Actual service life depends on running current, coolant temperature and how consistently the chiller keeps the tube within its rated range.

What cooling does the tube need?

All SH Series tubes are water-cooled, with a 9mm ±0.5mm water inlet and outlet OD. A dedicated chiller with clean, temperature-controlled coolant is required for stable output and full rated lifespan.

Is the tube certified for export/import?

Yes, the SH Series is CE and RoHS certified.

Do you offer OEM or private-label CO2 laser tubes?

Yes. Contact us at Mason@shrichman.com with your target power, length and branding requirements for OEM/ODM options.

Need a CO2 laser tube spec’d to your machine?

Send us your current tube’s length, diameter and power draw, and we’ll match it to the right SH Series model.
